Foreword - This is my fight and I am more than formidable enough to deal with Murphy and his No. 1 Terrific Sales Team - and the management of Battery World and Century Batteries - all by myself.

So I am asking you to not get involved and to not go and hassle them - as you need to go and deal with your own vexations and leave me to deal with my own.

Thank you very much.

The story.

I saved up and saved up and saved up and bought "BRAND NEW FRESH FROM THE FACTORY" C-105 batteries from Barry Murphy / Battery World in Bendigo, and you see if new batteries sit around in the shop for a long time, they self discharge (go flat) and the sulphur in the sulphuric acid coats the plates - and sulphur is an insulator - so the batteries are fucked - AND after 6 months they are ruined enough, that they are supposed to be recycled back at the factory. 3 of the batteries had reached 6 months - and 3 of them had reached 9 months...

Barry ripped me off and fucked me around, the national and state franchise managers (Rob Nemgus and Sebastian Kean) fucked me around (renegging on resupply) and the folks at Century (Yasua) Batteries fucked me around - by playing games and giving me the run around with the manufacturing date codes laser engraved into the battery tops.

They were all extremely reluctant to get me a set of NEW batteries fresh off the ship from Korea (3 months old) and to send them to my place (long way from shop) and swap them over, and take away the dud batteries they ripped me off for.

Partly it's getting ripped off and partly that is a couple of hundred Km's to do a return trip to take them back and get the refund....

Two trips = ~500 Km.

So they can replace them at their own expense.

Apparently they thought that sending me on long range errands, for the refund - AFTER they had lied to me and ripped me off, and I had already done one trip of ~250 Km was entirely appropriate.

"Nooo you load up your own truck / load them on with a courier. And you also organise to take the dud batteries you ripped me off with, away as well - and pay for all the freight yourself" - said I.

"No deal" said the Victorian state franchise manager of Battery World "Sebastian Kean" - after doing his sums and after initially saying yes....

This is not to say that the other franchise owners of battery world have been bad to deal with, as I found the other ones to be pretty good actually - but Barry Murphy and his staff, when it comes to asking for fresh batteries and getting sold dead buried and expired batteries, they have no problem doing it or failing to speak up that YOU the customer, are getting lied too and ripped off - by the other guy in the shop that is pulling the "fresh batteries" scam on me.

As a small part of the remediation process, this is Barry and his Bonny Off Sider reacting to the second step in the refund and accountability process.

They seem to be rather sensitive to the issues of dealing with the ex customers, they have given legitimate grievances too....

Barry is a dab hand with batteries all rightey.... Just ask him.

Meet the owners

Bendigo producers are in luck, Battery World's 110th store owner is, former farmer, Barry Murphy, so if anyone knows how much extra life you need to get from your batteires - it is him.

He is also a livestock nutritionist - swapping vitamins for volts to ensure Bendigo residents latest technology needs are always met.

In his farming days, Barry was a dab hand at setting up sheds with solar power so is looking forward to not only helping farmers but anyone looking for solar specialist solutions.

As a family man Barry understands the need to get more out of our devices, so Bendigo Battery World stocks batteries for many of those gadgets with 'hard-to-get' batteries from your older model mobile phone to NBN replacement batteries.

Not to mention Battery World provides a 24-hour roadside service and will happily take in your old domestic batteries for recycling from AAs to cars and trucks.

Adding to all of this - this team will also use the store to promote the company's charity of choice, Soldier On ( a charity committed to helping our veterans) with regular competitions, promotions and events.

It's the inconsistencies that I find so entertaining.
