It seems like every concert I go to before the bands comes on while you are getting beer or finding you seats they play this so so it is like an unofficial rock and roll anthem. What a great timeless band with a unique style and sound.

AC/DC was a band.... composed of people. When Bon Scott died, they all said to each other, do we pick up where we left off, or do we close down and shut down forever, and it was they who picked out Brian Johnson. Brian was never meant to be Bon Scott - he was always himself.... and the REST of the band picked him, because he was a good fit and could work well with their old material and they could go places with him as their lead singer.... So while all the people putting SHIT on Johnson are also putting shit on the entire band about picking Johnson. He has been a great performer and the band has done very well as a BAND.

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: He did a fine job, unfortunately his voice didn't last as long as his career. Only noticeable on live stuff, really. Happens to most of them, Robert Plant, Ian Anderson (throat surgery), Geddy Lee, just to name some big ones. Jon Anderson and Gary Brooker are a completely different story, both sound the same as when they started. Haven't heard any with GnR guy yet, but people say he did a good job too, didn't pull any of his rock star diva shit while with AC/DC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKCtHOICXtE

@Drums_McBashington: Yeah I didn't know that his voice was going... I did know a bit about proper singing techniques to develop the voice and keep the vocal chords in good condition - and what happens when you don't look after them.

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: It's a tough instrument, can't call in a techie to tune it. Can't call the airline when you lose it. Guitars can't catch colds.

@Drums_McBashington: FACTS. THATS SO TRUE. WHO KNOWS EVEN IF YOU DO ALL THE CORRECT THINGS YOU MAY STILL LOSE YOUR VOICE OR HAVE IT CHANGE IN SUM WAY. ROB HALFORD'S VOICE HAS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS AND SOUNDS AWESUM AND HAS INCREASED VOCAL RANGE IN HIS LATER YEARS SO IT IS POSSIBLE. :D \G/

@DIO DOOM NUTZ: Yep, Halford. Dio too, an amazing singer from his crooner years to metal god. Won metal vocalist of the year at 67. Not too shabby.

@Drums_McBashington: @DIO DOOM NUTZ: Opera singers and all that - really have to look after themselves..... I am no super expert, but I have seen the issues of training and not fucking your voice up by doing it wrong or too hard.. There is a small but specialist industry of coaches and surgeons etc. "PooTube" this: singing coach opera singer voice care

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: It's a delicate instrument that requires much more care than any other. ... but one can only do so much. Sometimes it doesn't matter, if your chords are going to crap out on you, they're gonna crap out. Ian Anderson should have retired or just went instrumental with his solo career. Couldn't do many of the old tunes, holding back when he did. One of the reasons Tull disbanded I think. He finally hired a singer, years later, but it just wasn't the same. It never occurred to Plant that he'd still be singing early Zeppelin a decade later (bands didn't last that long back then), so he struggled along for years, not able to reproduce the sound. Geddy learned from Plant's mistake, but still struggles with the early Rush, had to knock it down a few octaves on stage. You're right though, a lot of these guys didn't take care, party party, paid the price. Many others that didn't force their voice or do a lot of screaming lasted for the long haul. Ian Gillan made out alright, but was a serious singer and took care. Cats from Floyd didn't have any issues, sound as good as they ever did. A lot of today's singers will be fine as long as their auto tunes don't break down (haha).

Ever hear of WeTransfer? Set up a dummy email and I'll fire some choice bootlegs your way. Most of them are with Bon, a few with the new guy.
